The CG Music team is experienced in all aspects of music supervision from advising on script development, budget setting, negotiation, creative choices, finding the perfect score composer, including song writers for original songs, to delivering all the necessary paperwork in the final post production stages.
Recent Key Credits are BAFTA AWARD WINNING Blue Lights for BBC, where our proud focus is in promoting home grown talent from the island of Ireland, Trying for Apple TV, where we commission original songs to complement the warmth of the story telling, What It Feels Like For A Girl for BBC, based on the brilliant Paris Lees book of the same name and is set at the turn of the Millenium & where much of the story telling is submersed in the UK club culture of the time and OUTRAGEOUS , set in 1930s Britain, using lots of fabulous music of the time.

Our team specialises in Music Supervision and strategy for negotiation and licensing for Documentaries and Music Programming with such credits as the Feature Documentary on Andrea Bocelli “Because We Believe” for Lionsgate, the BBC /CNN co-production LIVE AID AT 40: WHEN ROCK N ROLL TOOK ON THE WORLD, the final official documentary on the late great Ozzy Osbourne NO ESCAPE FROM NOW, for Paramount TV, and the BBC’s official David Bowie 5 Years Trilogy Series.
ON SET RECORDINGS
We are highly experienced in so called “On Set” recordings required for scripted productions where music recordings need to be prepared in advance to be performed in vision by musicians or supporting artists, on production days. This requires clearance & negotiation of music in advance, liaising with musical arrangers, orchestrators, fixers, musicians & hire of commercial studios – and also from time to time, signed recording artists who need label release to undertake on set work.
Examples of projects include Good Omens for Amazon, True Love for Channel 4, Trying for Apple TV +, Blue Lights for BBC /Britbox, The Other Bennet Sister for BBC and Outrageous for UKTV/Britbox.
Score Pitching
We are adept in the pitching process for finding the perfect Score Composer for your soundtrack. We collate showreels, prepare briefs and organise pitch meetings, set budgets and negotiate fees & contract terms with composers/ agents. We are also able to advise on soundtrack terms and publishing rights for Production Companies.
Music Rights Training
With over 30 Years experience in the world class music rights team at the BBC in London, Catherine delivers short training programmes in music business affairs for production staff giving an overview of the responsibilities of the various stakeholders in the use of music and delivery of content to investors, distributors and commissioners. During Catherine’s time as the Music Rights Manager, her team were three times winner of the Music Week’s Best Broadcaster Music Team.
